Other features: The A9-M is a lightweight man-portable autonomous underwater vehicle weighing 70 kg, designed for rapid environmental assessment, seafloor mapping, and the detection, classification, and localization of naval mines and underwater hazards. Operating at depths ranging from 3 to 300 meters, it features a fully electric propulsion system powered by modular lithium battery sections up to 2.1 kWh. Its compact form factor allows deployment by a two-person crew from small boats, rigid-hull inflatable boats (RHIBs), or unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). For navigation and payloads, the vehicle integrates an inertial navigation system (INS) paired with a Doppler velocity log (DVL), while carrying a specialized sensor suite comprising a high-resolution dual-frequency side-scan sonar (455/900 kHz), a high-definition video camera, and CTD/SVP environmental sensors, with optional obstacle avoidance and USBL acoustic beacons. Furthermore, its design complies with NATO STANAG 1364 standards, maintaining ultra-low acoustic and magnetic signatures to prevent the actuation of sensitive bottom mines during survey operations.
