Ukrainian drone operators from the Northern Eagle unit of the 151st Separate Mechanized Brigade have targeted and destroyed a russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer. Aerial reconnaissance operators initially spotted the artillery system, allowing strike drone crews to engage and neutralize the target within minutes of detection.
The 151st Separate Mechanized Brigade published video material of the operation on its official Facebook page. Footage depicts the Msta-S taking direct hits from Ukrainian drones, after which the vehicle catches fire with subsequent secondary detonations around the self-propelled gun.
The 2S19 Msta-S serves as a primary 152 mm self-propelled howitzer for russian forces. Entering Soviet service in 1989 to replace the older 2S3 Akatsiya, the system provides mobile indirect fire against personnel, weaponry, and defense infrastructure along the front line. Brigade representatives noted that russian units deploy these heavy artillery assets to target positions, supply routes, and settlements near the battlefield.
