New Ukrainian Dovbush T40 drone engineered for deep reconnaissance and high-precision strikes

Dovbush T40 unmanned aerial system.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has codified the domestic Dovbush T40 uncrewed aerial system for military deployment. Designed for strategic-level operations, the multi-role fixed-wing platform is engineered to perform deep reconnaissance, fire correction, and high-precision strikes against enemy structures, equipment, and personnel far behind the frontline. Featuring a wingspan of nearly five meters, the aircraft can maintain continuous flight for over 24 hours with an operational range sufficient to reach targets beyond the Ural Mountains and into Siberia.

The deployment of the platform was confirmed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine following field trials that verified its performance parameters. Developed by an established domestic manufacturer behind earlier combat-proven platforms like the Dovbush T20 and Kotyhoroshko, the system represents a technological evolution toward greater payload capacity and extended range. The aircraft features a high-performance engine with electronic fuel injection, reduced radar cross-section, and enhanced electronic warfare resistance. Designed for flexible mission profiles, the system can execute precision engagements either as a loitering munition or via ordnance drop mechanisms.
