HESA (Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Corporation) is an Iranian state-owned aircraft manufacturing company founded in 1976 and located in Shahin Shahr (Isfahan Province). It operates under the Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO).
While formally identified as the manufacturer of the Qasef series of loitering munitions, these drones are most frequently associated with Houthi forces and other pro-Iranian proxy groups during combat operations, such as those in Yemen. However, technologically, structurally, and in terms of origin, the components and the platforms themselves are developed and supplied directly from Iran (effectively serving as a rebranded export version of the Ababil-2 drone).
