The maritime-focused defense festival TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland opened at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command on August 20, 2026. Organized jointly by the Ministry of National Defence and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), the four-day event showcases the operational assets and technological development of the Turkish Armed Forces, featuring 37 naval platforms alongside domestic missile systems, air defense platforms, and autonomous systems.
As reported by SavunmaSanayiST, key static naval displays include the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, the frigate TCG İstanbul, and the new Hisar-class offshore patrol vessel TCG Koçhisar, alongside the Reis-class submarine TCG Muratreis. The event also featured the first structural hull block of MİLDEN, Turkey’s national submarine project. Designed for a displacement of approximately 2,700 tons and a length exceeding 80 meters, the MİLDEN class is planned for mission endurance exceeding 50 days, covering anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, mine laying, and special operations support.
In the uncrewed sector, the exposition highlights the MARLİN armed uncrewed surface vehicle (USV), alongside various uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) undergoing mobility demonstrations. Flight demonstrations over the Gulf include the Bayraktar TB3 carrier-capable UAV and the AKINCI uncrewed combat aerial vehicle (UCAV). Ground displays feature indigenous missile systems including the TAYFUN ballistic missile, the ATMACA anti-ship missile, the AKYA heavy heavyweight torpedo, the HİSAR air-defense missile, the MALAMAN smart bottom mine, and components of the ÇELİKKUBBE layered air-defense architecture.
Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu noted during opening remarks that Turkish shipyards are currently constructing more than 50 warships simultaneously, including 37 for the Turkish Navy and 24 for export customers. Scheduled through August 23, the event combines military hardware exhibitions with dynamic displays, tactical demonstrations by Underwater Offence (SAT) and Underwater Defence (SAS) commandos, and collegiate uncrewed system competitions.
