Other features: The Gladius 2 is a jet-powered loitering munition and strike drone featuring a flying-wing aerodynamic design with a flat lifting body and swept wings. Its airframe construction and the placement of the air intake on the upper front fuselage are optimized to reduce radar and thermal signatures. Launched via a booster from a transport-launch container or mobile launcher, it remains compatible with the existing launch elements of the broader Gladius system architecture. For navigation and resilience, it is equipped with artificial intelligence-based onboard systems, enabling it to continue its mission under complete electronic warfare countermeasures and in GNSS-denied environments. Furthermore, it is deeply integrated into the unified Gladius reconnaissance-strike system and the TOPAZ combat management system, allowing intelligence data from sources such as the FT-5 UAV to be directly linked to target engagement.
