U.S. Central Command is taking a significant step in regional uncrewed warfare integration by launching Task Force Falcon Strike, the military’s first multi-domain, multinational attack drone unit. Headquartered through U.S. Special Operations Command Central, the new formation will deploy aerial, surface, and subsurface one-way attack drones operated jointly by American personnel and partner forces across the Middle East.
Building on the foundation laid nine months ago by Task Force Scorpion Strike—the U.S. military’s first dedicated one-way attack drone squadron in the region—Falcon Strike aims to scale these uncrewed capabilities into a unified regional deterrent. According to CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper, combining these emerging platforms with regional partners allows the coalition to integrate technological innovations more effectively and strengthen collective defense.
The previous initiative, Task Force Scorpion Strike, reached several key operational milestones in recent months. Its deployments included the first launch of an aerial attack drone from a U.S. Navy warship last December, as well as the use of uncrewed attack vessels during Operation Epic Fury and targeted strikes on Iranian port facilities in July.
With formal invitations now extended to regional allies, Task Force Falcon Strike will serve as a multi-domain operational framework, drawing staff from both SOCCENT and participating partner nations across CENTCOM’s area of responsibility.
