Italian technology company Impianti has partnered with U.S. company Red Cat Holdings to introduce its unmanned systems to the Italian market. The agreement covers the defense, security and law enforcement sectors.

Impianti will serve as Red Cat’s authorized distributor and local integration partner in Italy. The company will handle business development, system requirements definition, integration, demonstrations, training and technical support.

The partnership covers four Red Cat platforms — Black Widow, Hellcat, Edge 130 and FANG.

Black Widow is a small unmanned aircraft designed for short-range reconnaissance. The system was selected by the U.S. Army under its Short Range Reconnaissance program. In July, Red Cat subsidiary Teal Drones received a $2.49 million U.S. Air Force contract to supply Black Widow systems, training and support for the technical and operational evaluation of the system as a potential replacement for the Teal 2 fleet.

Hellcat, unveiled at Eurosatory 2026, is an international version of the Black Widow platform. It features a modular architecture that supports different configurations of command-and-control systems, payloads and software.

The agreement also covers Edge 130, a vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing unmanned system for ISR missions, and FANG, an FPV platform for training, operational support and selected tactical applications.

Impianti plans to begin presenting Red Cat’s technologies to the Italian market in the coming weeks. The partnership will also be showcased at GSOF Europe 2026 in Rome, which will take place from October 6 to 8.
