Israeli company Uvision, which manufactures loitering munitions, and Estonian company Lendurai, which specializes in autonomy technologies, have signed a partnership agreement for an unnamed NATO customer.
Under the agreement, Lendurai’s software will be integrated with Uvision’s platforms. The companies did not specify which NATO military customer the development is intended for, Breaking Defense reports.
The partnership focuses on Lendurai’s software, including its Neocortex system. The company says the technology has already been battle-proven in Ukraine. Lendurai also develops the Accipiter unmanned interceptor.
Uvision is known for its Hero line of loitering munitions, which comes in various configurations. However, the companies did not say whether the new agreement specifically involves integrating Lendurai’s software with the Hero drone.
Uvision CEO Ran Gozali said that AI-enabled autonomy is becoming increasingly important for operating in modern operational environments. According to Lendurai CEO Siim Maivel, combining the company’s AI and autonomy technologies with Uvision’s unmanned systems could enable the development of solutions tailored to operational requirements.
Uvision has recently been expanding its presence in the European market. In March, the company announced the establishment of its European subsidiary, Uvision Europe, in Munich.
In June, Uvision also unveiled the Cortex battle management system, designed to connect sensors with its Hero, Viper and Peregrine systems.
