REGENT tests Squire autonomous Seaglider during Silent Swarm electronic warfare exercise

Rhode Island-based defense developer REGENT Craft has integrated its autonomous wing-in-ground-effect platform, Squire, into the US military’s 13-day Silent Swarm experimentation event in Michigan to evaluate electronic warfare payloads across joint tactical environments.

As reported by Defense Blog, the exercise focused on electromagnetic spectrum operations, evaluating how small uncrewed systems employ and defend against radar, communications, navigation, infrared, and directed energy signals. Flying within one wingspan of the water’s surface to operate below line-of-sight radar coverage, the platform executed electronic attack, protection, and warfare support missions across combined air, ground, and maritime ranges.

The platform achieves operational speeds up to 70 knots, features a planned range exceeding 100 nautical miles (185 km), and carries configurable payloads up to 50 pounds (23 kg). Following its maiden flight and casualty evacuation trials with the US Marine Corps Warfighting Lab, REGENT continues platform development under a $15 million US Marine Corps contract alongside agreements with US Special Operations Command and the US Coast Guard.
