Slovak authorities have intercepted a planned arson attack against an eastern Slovakia manufacturing facility operated by Ukrainian defense firm Skyeton. The plant produces unmanned aerial systems, and police intervention prevented potential large-scale destruction and casualties, with up to 70 workers inside the building at the time of the targeted action. Property inside the site is valued in the tens of millions of euros.
As reported by the Police of the Slovak Republic, the operation, codenamed “Drone,” was initiated by the anti-crime unit ÚBOK following intelligence provided by the Slovak Information Service and Military Intelligence. Law enforcement officers identified and apprehended the individuals involved in organizing the attack. During the operation, police seized incendiary substances, tools, mobile phones, an action camera, and a handwritten operational plan. Preliminary analysis by the Police Forensic and Expert Institute confirmed that the seized incendiary mixture consisted of gasoline and polystyrene, a combination commonly referred to as napalm.
A Skyeton representative stated that Russian forces regularly attempt to strike the company’s production capabilities in Ukraine and target its reputation. The defense firm noted that the attempted attack on its Slovak facility underscores the threat posed by Ukrainian arms manufacturers to opposing forces, expressing gratitude to the intelligence services and law enforcement agencies that prevented the sabotage and detained the perpetrators.
Investigating officers have charged three foreign nationals with conspiracy to commit a particularly serious crime of general danger. Slovak police arrested two suspects locally and requested their remand in custody, while a third individual was detained in Germany under a European Arrest Warrant. Law enforcement officials emphasized that timely intervention prevented casualties and structural damage, with the investigation currently ongoing.
