Polish special forces are participating in military exercises in Germany designed to train units for operations in environments saturated with aerial surveillance and drones.
According to reports from the Associated Press, the training program was developed by the U.S. military utilizing operational lessons gathered from the war in Ukraine.
During the drills, personnel navigate a 3,000-square-kilometer simulated adversary zone, executing covert movements and conducting simulated strikes against key targets. The training scenarios require troops to evade detection by both opposing military forces and civilian infrastructure, including local surveillance cameras and public reporting channels. The U.S. military plans to conduct these exercises several times annually, with expectations to expand participation to other NATO allied forces.
Concurrently, the U.S. military continues to evaluate and integrate counter-drone technologies through programs such as the Transforming in Contact initiative and JIATF 401. These efforts focus on delivering unmanned systems directly to combat formations, including the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division, to study modern warfare methodologies and accelerate the deployment of defensive capabilities.
