During Project Convergence Capstone 6, an H-60M Black Hawk helicopter crew successfully executed a rocket-powered launch of an Altius-700 hunter-killer team to autonomously locate targets, share data across a networked formation, and execute strikes.
The demonstration in the Mojave Desert evaluated the ability of the unmanned systems to operate as a swarm under high-temperature conditions during a three-day test phase. The approach enables aircrews to deploy forward-sensing and strike assets deep into the battlespace without risking manned aircraft. This was reported by Anduril Industries on X.
Developed as part of the Air-Launched Effects concept, the Altius-700 features adaptable payloads for reconnaissance and electronic warfare, while its strike variant, the Altius-700M, delivers a range of up to 160 kilometers and an endurance of up to 75 minutes. Following these trials, the program’s next phase will involve deploying the system alongside a cavalry and armored unit to validate performance within a tactical formation.
