Military personnel from one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ separate mechanized brigades conducted a logistics mission for the first time using a Ukrainian-developed amphibious unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).
During the mission, the UGV covered more than 40 km by land and water, delivering food supplies and ammunition to positions.
The amphibious design allows the system to overcome water obstacles that can complicate the movement of conventional UGVs. These include rivers, canals and marshy areas.
On land, the system moves as a ground robot, while within seconds it can transition to water and continue along its route.
The system was upgraded over several months in cooperation with the military to carry out this mission. The developers took into account real-world tasks, operational experience and the characteristics of the terrain at the front.
The Brave1 defense innovation cluster provided grant support for the development. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, together with Brave1, also supports the development of amphibious UGVs.
In June 2026, the updated Brave1 grant program launched a dedicated Amphibious UGVs category.
