Russia attacked a residential high-rise building in Kyiv, a postal terminal in Odesa and a medical clinic in Zaporizhzhia. Meanwhile, on the night of September 25, several Russian regions came under a massive drone attack, with industrial facilities, including oil refineries and an enterprise of Russia’s military-industrial complex, among the targets.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a Russian drone struck a residential high-rise building in Kyiv in the morning. A 14-year-old boy was killed and seven more people were injured. Firefighters extinguished the fire at the scene.
In Odesa, one person was also killed in a follow-up strike on a postal terminal. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces struck a medical clinic while people were inside. People were injured in the Sumy and Mykolaiv regions as well. According to Zelenskyy, eight regions of Ukraine had come under attack since the beginning of the day.
Ukraine had warned its partners that Russia could escalate its attacks ahead of winter without additional pressure. The president called for the implementation of US sanctions and stronger European sanctions.
Meanwhile, drones attacked several Russian regions on the night of September 25. According to local authorities and the ASTRA monitoring channel, industrial facilities in Perm, Ulyanovsk, Voronezh and Rostov regions came under attack.
In Perm, drones attacked Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, with an annual capacity of more than 13 million tonnes of oil. Local authorities reported that a man was killed by injuries caused by falling debris and that the aftermath of the strike on the industrial facility was being dealt with.
In Ulyanovsk, drones attacked an industrial facility. Damage was reported to the facility and residential buildings, while eight people were injured. ASTRA later identified the target as JSC NPP Zavod Iskra, part of the Almaz-Antey concern, which produces radio-electronics components, including for Russia’s military-industrial complex.
A massive drone attack was reported in the Voronezh region. Four people were injured. Facades and windows of buildings, cars, and non-residential and industrial structures were damaged. Fires caused by falling debris were also reported. ASTRA said the target of the attack was Voronezhsintezkauchuk, a company belonging to the Sibur Group.
In the Rostov region, the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Products Plant was damaged. According to local authorities, the facility temporarily suspended operations, and there were no casualties.
