Anduril Industries is in negotiations with Poland regarding a potential agreement to pitch its Fury autonomous combat aircraft and Thunder autonomous attack rotorcraft, aiming to make the nation their first European user.
Speaking at the MSPO defense show, company vice president for Europe Brian Moran noted that the Fury is designed to partner with Poland’s incoming fleet of 32 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets as a loyal wingman and force multiplier to keep pilots out of harm’s way. Concurrently, the Thunder platform is being offered as a collaborative asset to accompany Poland’s planned fleet of 96 Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, serving as a vital force multiplier while the military trains pilots for the large rotorcraft fleet, as reported by Defense News.
Deliveries of the 96 Apache helicopters, along with related gear and weapons, are scheduled to begin in 2028, positioning Poland’s military to become the second-largest user of the helicopters in the world after the United States. In anticipation of these deliveries, the Polish defense ministry previously signed a $300 million contract to lease eight AH-64D Apaches.
In addition to autonomous aircraft talks, the U.S. defense-technology company has teamed up with Polish state-run defense giant PGZ for local assembly and production of the surface-launched Barracuda-500M cruise missile, pending final agreements with the Polish Ministry of National Defence.
