Ukraine joined the Artificial Intelligence Partnership for Defense for the first time, holding its 13th meeting on September 15, 2026, in Washington, District of Columbia, United States of America.
This international alliance was launched in 2020 by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) to strengthen technological cooperation, share best practices, and maintain the strategic edge of allies. Over the course of its existence, the initiative has expanded to bring together representatives from 17 allied and partner nations who are working collaboratively on how artificial intelligence can fundamentally transform military command and control. The primary theme of this year’s meeting centered on rapid real-time data sharing as an indispensable tool in modern warfare.
During the event, Ukrainian specialists shared their unique experience and conclusions regarding data operations gathered directly from the actual battlefield with international partners, DVIDS reports.
As Cameron Stanley, Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, noted, rapid data sharing has long ceased to be merely a bonus. Today, it is a vital tool that helps outpace the adversary. This international partnership helps armies jointly test new technologies and work together cohesively to enhance defense capabilities.
