Bio Res has demonstrated its net-capture quadcopter interceptor system during the Falcon Peak 26.2 counter-small unmanned aircraft systems experiment at Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona.
Operated by Bio Res, the Aeroo Pro quadcopter system physically disables target drones by deploying a specialized net apparatus via radio signal. The mechanism entangles target propellers to induce mechanical failure without relying on explosives or causing collateral damage, according to DVIDS.
Falcon Peak 26.2 serves as the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command’s experimentation event designed to evaluate new technologies, expand focus on low collateral defeat capabilities, enhance partner collaboration, and provide developers with immediate operational feedback.
