Operators from the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) recently carried out specialized drone operations training centered on utilizing unmanned aerial systems as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms.
The training sessions, conducted at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, featured personnel preparing, launching, and maneuvering tactical quadcopters, including Neros Archer FPV drones and Skydio X10 systems. During the exercises, operators focused on monitoring live video feeds, coordinating unit movements, and setting up dedicated communication platforms to support small-unit aerial reconnaissance, as reported by the DVIDS.
The 1st Special Forces Group maintains deployable forces designed to execute special operations alongside joint and partner forces within the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility. Visual materials documenting the training were reviewed and adjusted for operational security compliance under standard military guidelines.
