President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney reviewed Ukrainian unmanned systems and joint defense developments in Canada.
“The first Drone Deal with a state on the American continent will be precisely with Canada. In Alberta, together with Prime Minister Mark Carney, we viewed the drones that will be among the first to operate under this agreement. Canada is ready to order large volumes, and 30 percent of what is produced will be transferred to Ukraine,” the President of Ukraine noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Canada attended a presentation of Ukrainian unmanned systems, joint industrial developments, and component manufacturers in Canada. The presentation covered unmanned aerial platforms, including the Vampire 4S heavy bomber, the P1-SUN interceptor, the Shrike FPV drone, and the Hor reconnaissance aircraft, as well as Himera secure tactical radios. The leaders reviewed cooperation initiatives between enterprises, including the partnership between Airlogix and Sentinel to produce the Hor reconnaissance platform, a robotic ground vehicle prototype developed by Ai Drones UA and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc., and secure communications solutions from Himera and Quantropi.
Additional industrial cooperation agreements were also announced between GTH and General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada, JK Land Vehicles and General Dynamics Land Systems, along with an upcoming training program between Skyfall and Calian. The leaders inspected remote operations for the Ratel ground robotic system and uncrewed maritime platforms developed by UFORCE and Scorpena.
“Of course, we now need to find and scale solutions to protect Ukraine from jet-powered Shaheds. We are working on this and will share our developments and solutions with our partners,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
In total, 21 Canadian companies have been engaged in partnerships within the fields of technological integration and component manufacturing with developers. This initiative followed the signing of the Joint Declaration on Defense and Security Cooperation as part of the broader framework agreement for the Drone Deal program.
“We help those who help us. We thank Canada for genuine partnership,” the Ukrainian leader underscored.
The President of Ukraine arrived in Canada on September 10, where both states laid the groundwork for a 100-year defense partnership.
