Ukraine has adapted the remotely operated Khyzhak combat module for aviation use.
The delivery was announced on September 3 by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation following a joint fundraising initiative with the ride-hailing company Uklon.
Built around a PKT machine gun capable of utilizing both Soviet and NATO standard ammunition, the stabilized system features full 360-degree horizontal rotation and 75-degree vertical elevation. The mount is engineered to maintain accurate fire while the carrier platform is in motion. Having already been codified and cleared for use by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, the system’s modular architecture allows it to integrate across ground vehicles, fixed positions, maritime platforms, and now airborne platforms.
The module incorporates artificial intelligence-assisted target recognition and tracking software designed to automatically detect and follow aerial targets. This capability reduces operator workload against fast-moving threats such as FPV drones and larger loitering munitions.
