Ukrainian Bulava drone receives new thermal imaging camera for round-the-clock operations

The Ukrainian Bulava loitering munition developed by DeViRo has received an upgraded multispectral electro-optical system combining daylight and thermal imaging channels in a single housing.

A company representative shared the update at the MSPO international defense exhibition in Poland, noting that operators can switch between day and night modes directly in the control station software during missions, eliminating the need for separate optical module variants, reports Militarnyi.

All subsequent production batches of the Bulava strike drone will feature the new optical setup. Alongside the optical upgrade, developers increased the platform’s flight endurance to 110 minutes, with a guaranteed operational range of 120 to 130 kilometers that can be extended based on environmental conditions and crew training.

A company representative highlighted the system’s recent operational employment, stating that during the summer logistics campaign, the platform actively targeted enemy radars and air defenses to clear pathways for deep-strike missions. DeViRo previously presented its SOKYRA interceptor drone in March, designed with a 240 km/h top speed, a 45-kilometer operational range, a 30-minute endurance, and a 750-gram warhead to shoot down enemy attack drones.
