The Fire Point company has initiated military trials for its FP-7 ballistic missile following the successful completion of two preliminary testing phases, which included ground and laboratory evaluations of individual systems alongside flight trials.
Company CEO Iryna Terekh stated during the Photonics4Defense 2026: Technology Exchange & Matchmaking event that the upcoming phase will involve combat-condition trials as part of the codification process, with operational use expected in the course of a few weeks rather than months, as reported by Militarnyi.
According to the official technical data from the developer Fire Point, the FP-7 missile, first unveiled in September 2025 with an initial range of up to 200 km and a 150 kg warhead, features updated evaluation metrics capable of delivering a 200 kg payload over distances up to 300 km. The missile features a maximum speed of 1,500 m/s, a circular error probable of 14 m, and a maximum flight time of 250 seconds.
Concurrently, the Fire Point company is conducting flight trials for the more powerful FP-9 ballistic missile. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, this complex is designed with a maximum range of up to 855 km, carries an 800 kg warhead payload, reaches speeds of up to 2,200 m/s, climbs to a maximum flight altitude of 70 km, and features a 20 m accuracy. Due to Ukraine’s geographic and territorial limitations, full-scale testing of the FP-9 is technically constrained, meaning its ongoing flight trials may proceed directly through combat deployment against enemy targets.
