Other features: The AIM-120 AMRAAM features a wingspan of approximately 52.5 cm for early versions (AIM-120A/B), which is reduced to around 44.7 cm for the AIM-120C/D series modifications to ensure compatibility with internal weapons bays of fifth-generation fighters like the F-22 or F-35. The missile employs a combined guidance system consisting of an inertial navigation system with mid-course update capability and an active radar homing seeker on the final stage operating on a fire-and-forget principle.
