Ukrainian defense company F-Drones has introduced the F5, a compact five-inch strike FPV drone designed for assault units operating in close-quarters environments. Built on a lightweight carbon frame, the platform carries a payload of up to 1 kg and is optimized for rapid deployment in urban terrain, treelines, and frontline position support.
The system is manufactured in two guidance configurations: a jam-resistant radio link offering an operational radius of up to 13 km, and a fiber-optic control system providing EW immunity over a range of approximately 6 km. Designed for portability, multiple units can be transported in a single backpack. This was reported by F-Drones-UA on Facebook.
The platform features the codified Opera electronic initiation board and has undergone testing and codification by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Additionally, the developer engineered an adaptable mounting module allowing up to nine F5 drones to be deployed via uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs). This integration enables remote launch capabilities on targeted positions without exposing operators to direct risk.
