Ukrainian defense units have initiated combat testing of new uncrewed ground vehicles equipped with dual Kalashnikov assault rifles.
Developed under technical specifications provided by the defense innovation cluster Brave1, the systems progressed from initial concept to prototype in under six months with grant funding support, as reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The combat platform features a four-wheel chassis with airless tires and an armored body designed to withstand shrapnel, bullets, and punctures. Its paired weapon module allows two rifles to be mounted simultaneously, increasing fire density during assaults and defensive engagements against enemy infantry. The modular turret can also be installed on other wheeled and tracked uncrewed platforms.
Several units within the Defense Forces are currently evaluating the systems operationally, including confirmed successful deployments by the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center Alpha against enemy positions and lurking drones. The ongoing implementation of robotic systems aims to assume high-risk tasks on the battlefield and minimize infantry exposure in direct-fire zones.
