Serbia has officially commissioned a facility for assembling drones developed in Israel. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted that the project is designed to significantly boost the state’s defense capabilities.
The plant will provide jobs for about a hundred specialists and produce advanced equipment not only for its own armed forces, but also for export. The manufacturing process at the facility is strictly confidential, which is why media representatives were not invited to the opening. At the same time, the authorities have ambitious plans: in the future, Belgrade, together with Israeli partners, intends to launch at least three more similar factories throughout the country.
During his visit to the facility, the Serbian president personally inspected the cutting-edge platforms. As Vucic noted, such devices are capable of maneuvering effectively in complex conditions, in particular flying through windows and pursuing targets. Warheads for these drones will be manufactured at the Serbian defense enterprise Krusik.
Cooperation between the two states in this area began earlier: the state arms producer Yugoimport SDPR joined forces with the Israeli company Elbit Systems. Recently, Belgrade has been actively modernizing its army, concurrently ordering French-made Rafale jets and engaging technologies from other regions of the world.
