Splash Industries has unveiled a new mission module for its Typhoon uncrewed surface vessel, enabling operators to launch one-way aerial drones from the platform.
The system, designated the Airstrike Pack, allows operators to deploy aerial assets via the company’s proprietary command and control software, Splash C2. The module has already undergone testing during a force-on-force exercise, benefiting from in-house electronics and software development that ensure durability and cost-efficiency, as reported on the official LinkedIn page of Splash Industries.
The Typhoon platform is an 11-foot uncrewed surface vessel engineered for national security missions such as maritime surveillance and cargo delivery. The vessel features a sustained speed exceeding 50 knots, a range of over 600 nautical miles, and a modular deck configured for interchangeable payloads. In July, a Typhoon executed an autonomous underway resupply for the U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship USS Essex during the Rim of the Pacific exercise near Hawaii, navigating into the vessel’s flooded well deck without radio or satellite commands.
Splash Industries emerged from stealth in July following a 4.2-million-dollar funding round led by Ubiquity Ventures, having logged more than 10,000 nautical miles of autonomous deployments across three continents. Chief Executive Officer Ivan Avanesov noted that the firm is also preparing a larger platform named Tempest for upcoming U.S. Navy evaluations, designed to carry a 1,500-pound payload over a range of 300 nautical miles.
