Ukrainian experts from the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre advised NATO forces on countering uncrewed aerial systems during recent alliance exercises in Latvia.
The LCI-X 3-26 Execution drills served as the third phase of testing and integrating counter-drone solutions to support NATO’s eastern flank, gathering over 1,000 personnel from 25 NATO member states and Ukraine as part of Exercise Baltic Trust. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The third phase marked a transition from isolated counter-drone testing to multi-element tactical integration within NATO command and control systems. Ukrainian specialists adjusted the exercise scenario prior to launch by modifying UAV flight parameters to reflect modern battlefield realities.
During the active phase, JATEC personnel monitored and coordinated opposing force crews to ensure strict adherence to flight plans and threat profiles. This direct participation advances the operational interoperability of Ukrainian defense forces with NATO standards while bolstering the defensive capabilities of alliance partners.
