Kymeta has secured a contract valued at $20 million from the U.S. Department of Defense to supply more than 100 Osprey u8 satellite communications terminals. The procurement includes multi-orbit connectivity services on the company’s global broadband network, enabling seamless operation across geostationary and low Earth orbit constellations.
The terminals are engineered to switch dynamically between encrypted transmission security and standard networks, providing secure communication options for military users. Encased in a rugged, low size, weight, and power configuration, the systems contribute to the military’s primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency communications approach. This was announced in a statement by Kymeta.
The latest order brings Kymeta’s total deliveries of terminals and connectivity services to this specific defense branch past $30 million in 2026 alone. Company leadership noted that the systems are moving toward automated link selection to streamline operational continuity in contested electromagnetic environments.
